We are probably the longest running playgroup/pre-school in our local area, we've been open for 40+ years! With fully qualified, friendly and enthusiastic staff we provide excellent care for children and their surrounding families. We work closely with families in and out of the setting and continue to form great relationships, meaning we can give any support needed or wanted and ensuring the children enter a warm, welcoming environment every single day!

 

We have 15 and 30 hour free funded places available and we're always welcoming new families so please feel free to contact us with any enquiries.

 

The Cathedral Playgroup and Pre-school is known well for having a large variety of families from all around the world, some including India, America, China and Poland! We take great pride in our children's diversity and try to incorporate it in every day activities to show the children how wonderful it is to be different.

We are a charity run business meaning we run on our own income. This sometimes means we have to be extra imaginative in our every day activities, even the children muck in! They join in making all sorts of resources such as number boards, 3D and 2D shapes, alphabet blocks, colour wheels etc. (Please see our 'latest' and gallery pages for the most recent activities they've taken part in) All these things help the children learn and grow and get the best out of their time spent with us. So, although we're not the fanciest educational setting, we are jam packed of the same stuff just more homely and you'll certainly feel the effort we've put in to make it as good at it is for your children!

 

Our latest Ofsted achievement (2018) was graded as 'GOOD' and we are extremely proud of this.. (YAY!) Our staff have worked really hard to provide all the necessary parts of the EYFS for our children and it's paid off! Click on the link below to view the report in full.
